What is SEG?

SEG is committed to “inspiring the geoscientists of tomorrow” whose mission is Connecting, inspiring, and propelling the people and science of geophysics.Our student chapters are an excellent resource to increase interest among students of geophysics. SEG Student Chapters empower students to participate and spearhead projects that will address issues, challenges, and opportunities related to SEG’s mission of promoting the science of geophysics.

The Society of Exploration Geophysicists is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is Connecting, inspiring the people and promote the science of applied geophysics.

The society has more than 33,000 members in 138 countries and 297 student chapters in 63 countries, fulfils its mission through its publications, conferences, forums, websites, and educational opportunities.

What is SSCI?

The goal of the SEG Student Chapter ITM University (SSCI), is to promote interest in, and knowledge of, the sciences of geophysics and allied sciences, and to promote friendship and cooperation among those interested in the geophysical sciences. We are affiliated with the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and ITM University,Gwalior. We typically have meetings every other Tuesday at noon in the SEG Library section at LDV.
