The Department of Civil Engineering at ITM University provides comprehensive understanding of design, build, and maintain the foundation for our modern society that are our buildings, roads and bridges, drinking water and energy systems, sea ports and airports, and the infrastructure for a cleaner environment. The department also provides innumerable opportunities to students to equip themselves with practical skills by working on real time based minor and major projects, develop skills, explore internship opportunities in industry and participate in various National and International events. It helps students to gain a deeper knowledge and skills in the selected areas.

Industry-Relevant Curriculum:

The course curriculum is designed in accordance with Activity based continuous assessment (ABCA) model through which students are involved in various technical activities such as Project based leaning (PBL) to cater the needs of industry.

Integration of AI in curriculum:

The department offers various courses like, Geotechnical Engineering, Highway and Transportation Engineering and Construction Planning and Management for integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with curriculum. It enhances the capability of students to innovate and explore new horizons. The curriculum also integrates Indian Knowledge System (IKS).

Experienced Faculty:

Faculty is highly skilled with specializations in Computational fluid dynamics, Surveying, Estimation and costing, Construction material engineering, Structural engineering, Transportation engineering, and Geotechnical engineering.

State-of-the-Art Facilities:

The Department of Civil Engineering has well-equipped labs like Concrete technology lab, Highway and transportation engineering lab, Surveying lab, Materials testing lab, Workshop, Strength of materials lab, Fluid mechanics and turbo machinery lab, & CAD Lab. We have lush green campus with central library having profound collection of books and magazines.

About the B.Tech Civil

Department of Civil engineering, School of engineering and technology offers student centric learning to enhance academic learning of students under ABCA (Activity based continues assessment). This mode encourages students to actively participates in activities. Student centric teaching methods are reflected in industrial training, guest lectures, seminar presentation, Group discussion, PBL (Project based learning) which is experiential learning, quizzes, poster presentation, case study and self-learning through MOOC course. To encourage the students one part of internal marks are decided on the basis of ABCA activities. In Civil Engineering program substantial weightage is given to lab course and mini & major projects where hands on is the major focus. Industrial internship is the mandatory requirement and it is a credited course. In the Department of Civil Engineering many of the experience gained by the students is through experiments conducted in the laboratories. Students get the knowledge of Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering Concrete Technology via experimental learning

ITM University is first to adopt Activity Based Continuous Assessment System in M.P. which is being implemented at IITs, IIMs and among best universities of the world. A student is evaluated for his/her performance in a subject in a continuous manner during a Semester/Trimester. The major components under ABCA in our School of Management include Application Based Activity, Projects, Case Writing, Review of Literature, Seminar, Quiz, Poster, Open Book Test, Quiz and Assignments etc. We have also developed a unique culture to give prizes for the best individual and group ABCA activities to boost the students.
