Industry-Relevant Curriculum:

The course curriculum is designed in accordance with Activity based continuous assessment (ABCA) model through which students are involved in various technical activities such as Project based leaning (PBL) to cater the needs of industry.

Integration of AI and IKS in curriculum

The department offers various courses like Machine learning, Robotic Process Automation and 3D printing for integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with curriculum. It enhances the capability of students to innovate and explore new horizons. The curriculum also integrates Indian Knowledge System (IKS) including traditional knowledge in the fields of arts, literature, agriculture, basic sciences, engineering and technology, architecture, management, and economics.

Faculty is highly skilled with specializations in Computational fluid dynamics, Machine design, Tribology engineering, Manufacturing technology, 3-D Printing (Additive manufacturing), Thermal engineering.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has well-equipped labs like Additive Manufacturing(3D Printer lab), CNC and FMS lab, CAD/CAM lab, Materials testing lab, Automobile lab, Workshop, Thermodynamics lab, Strength of materials lab, Heat and mass transfer lab, Energy conversion systems lab, Refrigeration and air conditioning lab, Fluid mechanics and turbo machinery lab, I C engine Lab. We have lush green campus with central library having profound collection of books and magazines.

About the B.Tech Mechanical

The department, right from the inception, has been offering undergraduate and advanced studies under all the broad field of Thermo-Fluids, Materials and Design, Manufacturing Sciences and Robotics. The current areas include computer aided design techniques, computer aided manufacturing, flexible and robotic manufacturing systems, intelligent machines and systems, computer graphics, precision engineering, automation, advanced machining methods and materials. The teaching-learning pedagogy includes Project Based learning (PBL) technique. The latest CNC lathe machine has also been installed in the departmental workshop. State of the art 3-D printing machine with Solid works software is also available for the research work of UG/PG and PhD programme.

ABCA:

ITM University is first to adopt Activity Based Continuous Assessment System in M.P. which is being implemented at IITs, IIMs and among best universities of the world. A student is evaluated for his/her performance in a subject in a continuous manner during a Semester/Trimester. The major components under ABCA in our School of Management include Application Based Activity, Projects, Case Writing, Review of Literature, Seminar, Quiz, Poster, Open Book Test, Quiz and Assignments etc. We have also developed a unique culture to give prizes for the best individual and group ABCA activities to boost the students.
