Evaluation and Examination Guidelines

As per the Framework for Universities to Conduct Examinations for SWAYAM Courses, your performance will be evaluated as follows:

1. Continuous Assessment: Throughout the course, your progress will be evaluated through assignments, quizzes, and participation in discussions. These activities will count toward your final grade.

2. Final Examination: Upon course completion, a proctored final examination will be conducted. The final exam will be held at your university, which will serve as the designated exam center for SWAYAM courses.

3. Evaluation Breakdown:

• The university will assign 70% weightage to the end-term examination, conducted at the university.
• The remaining 30% weightage will be for the assignments and quizzes conducted by the SWAYAM Course Coordinator. These components are available and monitored on the SWAYAM portal.

4. Eligibility for End-Term Examination: The university shall ensure that students who have completed the entire SWAYAM course and have submitted a minimum of 75% of the assignments and quizzes on SWAYAM will be eligible to appear for the end-term examination conducted by the university. The Nodal Officer will verify this information using the SWAYAM Admin dashboard.

5. Minimum Passing Criteria: To earn the course certification, you must meet the minimum passing marks, which are based on the combined scores from continuous assessment and the final exam. The evaluation scheme ensures a comprehensive review of your learning and skills acquired through the course. To pass in a SWAYAM Course, a minimum of 40% passing marks (i.e., minimum 12/30 marks in Assessments/Quizzes & 28/70 Marks in the end term examination) is required.

Credit Transfer Provisions

• In compliance with UGC regulations, you can transfer up to 40% of your degree credits from SWAYAM or NPTEL courses, provided these courses are approved by your university for credit transfer.
• Upon successful completion of the course and final exam, submit your certification and marks to the university for credit equivalency evaluation and transfer.
• The university will incorporate these credits into your academic transcript, helping you progress in your degree program.
