Accounting for nearly two-thirds of the entire health workforce, allied health professionals practice individually and in interdisciplinary teams to provide an extraordinary range of diagnostic, technical, therapeutic and direct patient care. Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) Programme

Physiotherapy is a health care profession dedicated for the improvement of overall quality of life, prevention of disability and promotion of positive health. The BPT curriculum at School of Medical and Paramedical Sciences is in line with global standards to keep up the knowledge base of Physical Therapy and top priority is given for one-to-one clinical teaching at our well-established clinical education facilities. To enhance the clinical skills along with class room teaching, students will be posted at various centres throughout the duration of the study. This program is extended over a period of four years including 6 months of Advanced Clinical Internship. On successful completion of this program, the student will be awarded the degree of Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) and qualify as a Physical Therapist, which would be a stepping stone to a challenging career.

Eligibility: Candidate with Science who have passed the qualifying 12th standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in physics, chemistry and Biology.

Duration: 4.5 Year

Bachelor in Medical Lab Technology (BMLT) Programme

Bachelor of Medical Lab Technology is an undergraduate course designed to equip eligible candidates with an advanced learning in both routine and sophisticated laboratory diagnostic procedures. Students enrolled to the course are taught to perform tests that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The program also equips candidates with the requisite knowledge and skills needed to handle sophisticated lab equipment and perform accurate laboratory tests.

Eligibility: Candidate with Science who have passed the qualifying 12th standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in physics, chemistry and Biology.

Duration: 3 Year

Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT) Programme

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) is a 2-year diploma course pursued after the successful completion of the 10+2 level of education. This medical course involves advanced professional learning in: – Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment of diseases in patients through clinical laboratory tests.

Eligibility: Candidate with Science who have passed the qualifying 12th standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in PCB.

Duration: 2 Year

Diploma in X-ray Radiographer Technician (DXRT) Programme

DXRT or Diploma in X-Ray Technology is a Diploma level course. X-Ray Technology deals with the study of electromagnetic radiations that penetrate into the human body and creates the image of the internal structure in photographic film.

Eligibility: Students who have completed their higher education or class 12th in the science stream can apply for this course. Students must obtain a minimum of aggregate 50% marks in PCB.

Duration: 2 Year

Diploma in Anaesthesia Technician (DAT) Programme

Diploma in Anaesthesia Technician is a two years diploma programme that deals with the basic applications and functions of anaesthesiology. The course helps students learn the procedure of preparing patients by anaesthesia methods and procedures before the surgery.

Eligibility: Students who have completed their higher education or class 12th in the science stream can apply for this course. Students must obtain a minimum of aggregate 50% marks in PCB.

Duration: 2 Year

Certificate in Operation Theatre Technician (COTT) Programme

The Certificate in Operation Theatre Technician is a One-year operation management programme that focuses on teaching various skills and knowledge connected to equipment training and management techniques in the operating room.

Eligibility: Students who have completed their higher education or class 12th in the science stream can apply for this course. Students must obtain a minimum of aggregate 50% marks in PCB.

Duration: 1 Year

Certificate in CT MRI (CCM) Program

Computed Tomography (CT) Technicians use computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. This job-oriented paramedical training program helps students acquire key CT/ MRI scanning skills in operating the scanner, recording images and handing over the records to the concerned senior doctors.

 Eligibility: Students who have completed their higher education or class 12th in the science stream can apply for this course. Students must obtain a minimum of aggregate 50% marks in PCB.

Duration: 1 Year

  • ONE MONTH TRAINING PROGRAMME:-  The students are provided with certified In-House training programmes every year for 1 month in ITM Hospitals as clinical duties. The training comprises of rotatory clinical postings after the session ends (Term end) as before the commencement of new session
  • SIX MONTH INTERNSHIP PROGRAMMES:  All the students of final year are allotted 6 months of certified internship programmes in ITM Hospital, at different departments after the term – end examinations.

Each year, School of Medical & Paramedical Science students who have been working on research or projects at ITMU are required to participate in a poster presentation, Workshop, Conference, Seminar and Field Visit. All these scientific events are judged by a team of expert faculty and then graded based on the outcome.

This University and School -wide event has a history of being a rich and exciting opportunity for undergraduate students of all Allied Health Science disciplines and backgrounds to present their research and other creative works, and to share their intellectual experiences and innovations with their peers in an engaging atmosphere. A wide variety of presentations are always welcome, including, but not limited to, oral presentations, Model exhibitions, displays, research posters, and performances.
